Discover Twenty-Nine New Game Cards from Magic's TMNT Set (Including a Commander-Style Deck!)

Everyone's favorite pizza-eating heroes are arriving to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's company, the game's creators, revealed a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a exclusive panel hosted at NYCC. Is this a exciting new set or yet another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.

Check out below at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with key background. All items listed here launches on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — the Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before we get into the many unique products and bundles on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Play boosters for the expansion are set at $6.99 each, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a few surprising features. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak Attack, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, in which players can play big creatures into the battlefield whenever an attacking creature isn’t blocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells too. The designers also took the opportunity to clean up the mechanic a bit (Sneak counts as casting, as opposed to the older mechanic). The original ability isn't going away, but it's more likely we'll see Sneak in future sets moving forward.

“If we ever were to return to the Kamigawa plane, we might use Ninjutsu because that plane is it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” an experienced game designer stated. “But in other settings, because the rules are cleaner and the new ability is what's going to be in standard, it’s probable that we'd use the updated version.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four special cards with unique artwork created exclusively for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist the co-creator.

Oh, and, should you be surprised by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which allows playing cards outside of your deck, many players were. But as per the developers, that's now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

Anyway, below are the highly unusual land cards with full art from this set:

Following the company’s current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers state they took care to make sure the new cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with other Standard sets such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for over a year and we knew it was going to be in standard and what other sets were going to be alongside it in Standard,” the designer commented. “Our goal was to make sure that they work well with some of those sets including Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

After declining to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary cards that can serve as your Commander based on how you pair them (five of the cards include a unique partner ability named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command zone instead of only one). Take a look below:

This Commander precon is priced at $69.99, though the price may rise due to demand. Wizards indicated that it includes 43 new cards in total, which translates to an additional 37 Turtle-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary commanders shown above. (Calculating roughly, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the precon includes 37 lands.)

What will the Turtles edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, the company is selling a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the listed items:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • 15 Traditional foil basic lands
  • 15 Regular land cards
  • Two helper cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promotional card
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, primarily because it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Each pizza-themed bundle costs $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • One Premium Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Foil Pizza Bundle promo cards
  • Two helper cards
  • One Oversized spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

If you’re wondering about the “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card featuring all-new Turtle-themed art. Wizards revealed an example for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual depicting Splinter sprinkling toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six distinct pizza promos in total.

This special bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and is priced at $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Play Boosters (the perfect amount four people to play draft)
  • One Collector Booster (aka, the reward for winning)
  • Ninety Non-foil land cards (for building your deck)
  • Ten Regular token cards
  • 1 Draft insert (a one-sheet guide to drafting the set)

Cooperative Play Set

Lastly, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to create Magic products aimed at beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of prebuilt decks that allow two players team up against a “Boss” enemy deck that plays automatically.

The general idea here that each Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures included in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays an additional card per turn, and players begin fighting {one Boss|
